Upcoming webinar: Supporting an abused woman to bring an emergency motion

On February 27, Luke’s Place Legal Director Pamela Cross presents a webinar with Your Legal Rights that:

  • walks frontline workers through the emergency motion process
  • explores the common reasons that emergency motions fail and
  • discusses how to assist an abused woman in gathering evidence and presenting it effectively so she can obtain the order she needs.

Emergency motions are a family court process that allows the parties to obtain a short-term order quickly in certain serious circumstances. Very often, the need for such a motion arises at the beginning of a case, before either party has engaged a lawyer.

Register for the webinar on the Your Legal Rights site.

The taped webinar will be available on the Luke’s Place site after February 27.
