Your donation helps us to support women with urgent family law issues during the COVID-19 crisis.
Some women are trying to escape abusive relationships at this time of social isolation. Others are dealing with abusive ex-partners who refuse to return children from access visits or who will not pay support just as a woman is laid off.
Under COVID-19, family courts will only hear cases deemed as “urgent”. Abuse survivors need support as they present their cases. Luke’s Place is there for them.
How we help
Luke’s Place provides legal information and safety planning to women who are subjected to abuse and have family law issues, such as restraining orders, arrangement for children after separation, and child and spousal support.
During COVID-19 we continue to offer our services over the phone. Our pro bono lawyers are providing free summary advice to women through video conferencing.
We have partnered with legal and community organizations to ensure access to justice to those who need it most.
Will you partner with us too?
A time of financial challenge for Luke’s Place
Historically Luke’s Place, along with other non-profits, has relied on the generosity of local service clubs. Service clubs run wonderful fundraising events, all of which have been understandably cancelled with COVID-19.
To compensate, we ask you to donate to Luke’s Place. We’ll be grateful for any donation large or small. Your support will help us support vulnerable women and their children today — and when the pandemic breaks.
Keep safe and please donate!
