Navigating the family court system can feel overwhelming, complex, and intimidating, especially when you’re already dealing with major life transitions. That’s why our Family Law Information Workshops (FLIWs) are designed to support, inform, and empower women at every stage of their family law journey.

What are virtual workshops?

Our workshops run every other week and cover a variety of important legal topics, including:

  • Getting started: Overview of family court processes
  • How to complete court documents
  • Working effectively with a lawyer
  • Presenting evidence of abuse

Who should attend?

These sessions are open to women who:

  • Are currently involved in a family law case
  • Are considering beginning a family law case
  • May or may not have legal representation

Whether you’re just starting the process or looking to better understand what’s ahead, these workshops offer practical, accessible guidance.

What You’ll Gain

Each session is led by a family law lawyer and a legal support worker, ensuring you receive reliable legal information. You will gain:

  • A clearer understanding of the family court process
  • Tips for building positive, productive relationships with lawyers
  • Guidance on completing important court forms
  • A helpful take-home package that includes handouts and resources

These workshops aim to reduce confusion, build confidence, and help you make informed decisions.
