Fall into Learning: Earn your Professional and Substantive Hours

As fall settles in, it’s a great time for Ontario family law lawyers and law students to dive into professional development.  

If you’re looking for professional or substantive hours this season, we offer meaningful training opportunities designed to strengthen your skills and deepen your understanding of intimate partner violence (IPV) in the context of family law.

Our online course ‘Effective Lawyering with Clients Leaving Abusive Relationships’, covers topics such as: 

  • Understanding intimate partner abuse 
  • Cultural and legal intersections 
  • Screening and intake 
  • Practice management and professional responsibility 
  • Common legal issues and evidentiary concerns in abuse-related cases 

This course is eligible for: 

  • 1 hour and 20 minutes of Professional Hours 
  • Up to 1 hour and 10 minutes of Substantive Hours 

Course Fee: 

  • $125 for practicing lawyers 
  • Free for law students 

Registration Details: 

To enroll, practicing lawyers will need to provide their LSO number and year of call to the bar.
