Family law, criminal law and immigration issues: Webinar on intersecting legal issues

Common intersecting legal issues when there's family violence: Family law, criminal law, immigration law, child protection

Many women who leave abusive relationships are dealing with multiple legal issues, each of which has an impact on the other(s). When there is a family law case, a child protection investigation, criminal charges and/or family members’ status in Canada will impact that case. This webinar on intersecting legal issues looks at three common legal systems: family, criminal and immigration. It explores the challenges of ensuring appropriate information is shared from one system to another as well as the impact of outcomes in one on what happens in the others.

This is the latest in a series of webinars on family law issues when there’s family violence presented by Luke’s Place in partnership with CLEO, with support from The Law Foundation of Ontario.
