The event will be held at Durham Region Headquarters and aims to raise awareness, funds, and support for survivors of intimate partner violence in the community.
The need for support has never been greater, with violence against women (VAW) organizations in Durham Region reporting a significant increase in demand for services.
This important initiative is designed to bring together community members, organizations, and supporters in a united effort to combat IPV. Participants can create teams, donate, and become sponsors to support this critical cause.
“We believe that by coming together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against IPV,” said the community walk coalition. “This walk is not just about raising funds, but also about showing solidarity with survivors and raising awareness about the resources available in the region. We encourage everyone to get involved by forming teams, raising funds, making donations, or simply spreading awareness. Every contribution, whether big or small, plays a crucial role in advancing our mission toward safer communities.”
